Feature: multiple cellars

Manage wine across multiple cellars and storage locations

Wine rarely lives in one place. Home cellar, kitchen fridge, summer house, bonded storage — ViniQ keeps them in one inventory while showing exactly where each bottle is.

Why location matters

When wine is spread across locations, two problems appear: you cannot find a bottle when you want it, and you lose track of how each location affects ageing. A wine fridge set to serving temperature is very different from a 12 °C cellar.

Recording location separately from the wine itself means you can move bottles without losing their history, and you can make sure long-term wines are kept in your best storage.

How locations work in ViniQ

  • Sites

A site is a physical place: home, restaurant, holiday house or a professional storage facility.

  • Cellars and bins

Within each site, organise racks, shelves, fridges or cases as bins with your own names.

  • Move without losing history

Moving bottles between bins or sites keeps tasting notes, prices and the event log intact.

  • Filter by location

Search and stock-taking work per site or bin, so you can count one fridge without touching the rest.

  • Separate shared cellars

Keep a personal collection and, for example, a club or business cellar side by side, each with its own members.

A naming scheme that scales

  1. 1

    One site per address

Name sites after places, not furniture: “Home”, “Summer house”, “Storage – Stockholm”.

  2. 2

    Bins that match the racks

Use short, printed codes like A1–A12 so bin names match the physical labels.

  3. 3

Reserve the best storage for ageing

Keep long-term wines in your coolest, most stable location and drink-now wines closest to hand.

Frequently asked questions

How many cellars can I have?
There is no limit on sites, bins or bottles.
Can I share one cellar but keep another private?
Yes. Shared cellars have their own members, separate from your personal collection.
Can I print labels?
Yes. Bottle labels can be printed with the wine and its bin, so physical racks match what ViniQ shows.
